One of my latest most enjoyable wanderings is one of the valleys in between my hometown, Haz-Zebbug, and Siggiewi. Starting close to the entrance to Wied Qirda, Wied Hesri stretches for about 2km, ending close to the Siggiewi cemetery.

For people living in Zebbug and Siggiewi, this valley offers a good walking path early in the morning or late in the evening. It’s peaceful, surrounded by lots of nature and very safe.

After a good rainfall, the valley fills up with water, until it seeps into the rocks. At spring time, the area is filled with lots of native shrubs. By the side of the valley a number of trees have been planted, yet I doubt whether they are watered enough. Further in into the valley you will find an almond tree and deeper inside a wild berry plant.

A good part of the valley is accessible even by car since by the side of the valley there is a cemented unnamed road. Still I suggest that you walk the whole stretch of it, admiring the nature around. If you are lucky enough you might come across some chicken and turkeys or maybe some interesting spider. Look attentively!!!
